Yo guys,
How ya all been? Good, I hope?
It's time for another crappy recommendation time thread, so ya better escape now, before it's too late and ya will be infected with useless syndrome. It's very dangerous.....
Ya like comedy? Ya do? Well, that's good, because this one's got a lot a of it. And ya also like Yuri (like, who doesn't)? Then this might just be for ya.
Today I present to ye:
Poor Poor Lips
Here, have the Cover page of Volume 1
This 4-koma manga has been released back on 18th of September of 2006 and ran until 17th of September 2012, and spans 4 Volumes.
Our story (well, her story, 'cuz I had nothing to do with it) revolves around 2 young women, one of which is extremely poor, and one which is extremely rich (I wish I was extremely rich). Since poor people need money, she decides to try to get a job, and soon finds herself applying for a job in a local shop that sells Powerstones. Said shop is owned by our fancy rich women, but of course, that's not the only plot device. The owner is also a lesbian. (Shocking, I know, but what would Yuri manga be without them?) And so, the story depicts the interactions between two people from very different backgrounds, as we get a glimpse into their daily lives. Will our lesbian make a new lover? Will our poor girl ever get rich? Will they ever fall in love? Of course I could answer those questions, but why should I? I think ya should go read it yerself instead. It's much more fun that way.
Here, let me show ya the first chapter (including character introduction):
There ya have it. Sure sounds interesting, doesn't it?
Also, good way to illustrate the art style. As it is 4-koma, the art is more simple, but I don't think that it is a problem. One person can only do so much I guess, and still be on time. Sure is hard to work to a deadline.
I wanted to say something else, but I forgot now what it was, so ya have to make do without it.
Now, I leave it at that, there is really not much more that I can say about this. But definitely give it a read, it;s got quite good comedy throughout, and it will leave ya feeling all nice and happy (maybe, I guarantee nothing).
I remember now. The first 3 Volumes have been localized to American, which is slightly annoying (why people would do that is beyond me, it's not like we don't know the value of the Yen).
But apart from that, enjoy it.
As always, feedback, comments, hate mail, Lolis, all are appreciated. If ya do end up reading it, maybe ya can leave yer thoughts below so we can talk about it more, if ya fancy.
See ya next time when I can be arsed to do another one or have decided on which one to do next.
