Forum Theme competition voting now open - Vote inside

Hey guys,

Well, the competition has come to an end, and it's time to vote for who will take home the top prize of whatever amount I promised.

Since not very many people actually did a theme, ya don't need to agonize over the choices so much.

But let me give ya some words from teh individual theme creators (but not Cryo, because he's a lazy bob):

First, a word from w_6 on his Girls und Panzer theme:

Life is Life. Panzer Panzer.

A dark, blue theme with the Anglerfish Crew popping up everywhere~

Errr... for a summary, I dunno. We needed a GuP theme, not that we are a GuP clan, but it's the only anime which focuses on Panzerkampf so ye. As there wouldn't have been enough place for all different characters to appear (expect for the BG & Header), I focused on the Anglerfish team.

The BG is basically a copy&paste of someone's fanwork. The artworks in the header are by the same guy who does all the Strike Witches stuff I think, I liked the style so I stitched them together. It's not even ecchi yo!

After setting for a BG I chose the overall color scheme and twerked the CSS so that no weird white-orange stuff from the Holo theme should be used.

I also made every forum post transparent, as else every 2nd one would be plain blue which looked unappealing, now you can always see a bit of the BG :3

What else... Oh ye, little fluffy Yukarin will tell you, if there's a new post or not while wagging her tail, it's so cute you have to check it out :3

I also changed every other major icons, all thread icons are taken from a little enjoyable fanwork gif and edited a bit so that you still can see what they were originally.

And ye, I think that's all. A bit sad that I couldn't edit the thread pictures on the mainpage as that's from a plug-in, same for the colour in the announcment header, as well as some thread-only BGs.

Now a word from everyones favorite Gachmaster Steam:

And finally, a word from myself about my Rumia Theme:

Well, when we think of Rumia (from Touhou 6), or if we even google her, most of the stuff we see is cute and all that. But I decided to maybe showcase her other side, or the side that is more natural to her.
But let me explain. Rumia is a yokai that can control darkness (although not very well, since she seems to be only strong enough to make it about twilight dark). Pretty weak, so why pick such a weak girl as theme?
Well, for starters, it's really hard to know what she actually looks like, as she is usually encased in a blob of darkness, which only disappears on nights of the full moon. So unless ya out in that particular time,
good luck trying to see anything...not that she can see ya either, I supposes. But Failure, that's still not scary enough...well, did I tell ya she also likes to eat Humans? Tasty Humans like you and I? I didn't?
Well, screw ya, she does, so stay away from her, she be dangerous.

As such, I tried to reflect her darkness and hunger for tasty human flesh in my theme, purposely limiting my color palette to 3.5 colors. Why 3.5? Well, because of the gray in the menu bar.
Apart from that, ya can see that I focused a lot on red to imply the rather violent nature of killing humans, even smattering some bloodstains here and there.
White i used mostly for spot coloring and text, though I can tell ys straight away that some text will be hard to read. For that reason alone I had to add a black overlay behind forum posts,
as ya all know, some boards have very bright backgrounds, so white text would be hard to read. I tried to go completely minimalist, but just couldn't, just for ease of use.
Black is used mostly as a background color, and to darken the whole theme.
Some backgrounds will change as ya scroll up and down, just to make the whole theme less static (only the search fields and similar, and any text input boxes, like the box ya write and compose replies in).
Good chance that it will be hard to read what ya type, but hey, at least ya can feel like Rumia herself, who also doesn't see anything most of the time....
I did also go for a completely borderless look this time, and a lot of transparency. I even included a surprise to imply Rumia's sudden appearance from the dark....

That said, enjoy the theme, and let me say that if ya choose to use it, it is not exactly finished, as it's missing some fancy effects that I didn't have time for, and I will add them sometime in the future.
