I won't be able to help out in the next time (well, I really didn't do much since even before the last no-life marathon), coz I'm on Ubuntu now and I have no idea what I'm doing!
Pros: My harddrive is clean.
Cons: How the fuck do I install wine properly on the lastest version shortterm support version. Guess I should change to a more reliable version, kek. Also not sure how the performance will turn out.
I'll test this for like, 1-2 months now, if I can't make heads and/or tails of it by that time I'll just buy Windows again.
Why did I do this? My harddrive was full, and I had no clue what shit was lingering everywhere. Also did have neither a restore point, nor the original CD/recovery CD/Windows Key.
You install original Windows? o.O Anyway, if you had w10, it'd activate itself shortly after you connect it to the internet, key is tied to your motherboard (it means if you change motherboard, you need another w10 key).
Had no problems with intalling WINE, learning how to use it properly was kind of an issue. Lots of googleing.
If you run programs with WINE, they'll run worse than on Windows. How much depends on the program and, of course, your PC. Another bad news is that games which have their Linux version quite often run worse than on Windows because their devs are lazy bastards. Like XCOM Enemy Unknown.
A good thing about WINE is that if you have some old game, lets say Worms 2 from 1997, which can't be run on a w10 at all, it can be run with WINE without any problem (they can be run with a potato so any newer PC should run it at max). And so far it worked for all oldies I have that can't be run on w10 (Caesar3, Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds and all Sudden Strikes).
P.S. Should have left some space on hdd for windows, dualboot best boot.
nah, I had a 'special' Win7 version from a friend I no longer see.
Took me a few days to sort out the stuff needed for Ubuntu and then WoT, but it seems I can play again - tho there are same graphic glitches in the garage which might need some tweeking.
Am only a bit sad that I installed the 32bit ver kek. Not sure if the 64bit would actually work that well with Wine tho~

32bit Ubuntu or WoT? If Ubuntu, if you have 4 or less GB of RAM, it's regardless, if not better to have 32bit. From experience, 64bit Ubuntu 15.10 and WINE work quite well and had no issues with it so far. Some games actually run better in WINE than their Linux versions, go figure.
It's 16.04 64bit Ubuntu, but the Wine I installed with PlayOnLinux is 1.9.22. for 32bit, that's why WoT only could install the 32bit version. Guess I'll try the 64bit version as well sometime~ Thanks for the encouragment btw, getting used to Linux I uninstalled the old driver for my wlan usb stick, but the new one didnt install as expected xD Luckily it all worked out on 2nd try as the data was on the PC, as well as a more useful readme on how to install it in it^^
My be that there's only a 32-bit version of the game, but you can only use the HD client if you have a 64bit system - and I had the wrong wine version. Installed the right one today, and now I have pretty much my old WoT back.
Only things that happen are: -cameramovement too fast_> I need to look at the setting for the mouse a bit closer lol
-textures need a bit longer to load which I'm fine with. Tanks in the garage are always a bit glitched, but look perfectly fine in battle. well ,expect for that Hetzer lel
-playing Strongholds yesterday, you can do the usual tank select, when the battle begins loading the client shuts down. restarting the client loads you directly into the game, so no problem if you have a somewhat fast PC.
-BUT: During a SH battle, you can't use the minimap to click on things, you also dont see if anyone else clicks there. Also you can't use the commands on the F-keys, not even trough the menu on the Y-key.
-However the SH battle ends, you load normally into your garage, but will have to restart your client to actually be able to play another round of SH - even if you don't change tanks.
-If you stop playing SH and want to play random battles, restarting the client is the way to go. Otherwise you won't be able to use the minimap & commands.
Unluckily I couldn't make it to CW today so no idea how that wouldv'e played out, my guess would be that it would be similiar tho^^"

Try playing it in fullscreen for a test (it's WoT, never know what to expect -_-), since it seems like it's in windowed mode from your pics. If that's how fullscreen looks like, I'd be back on Windows asap, just because I hate things that take my screen uselessly, like taskbar. Or action bar. Or any fucking bar. :]
EDIT: Will download WoT on Ub just for additional experiance with system and to test stuff so you don't suffer alone.

nah, I could turn the launchbar off/set it to automatically hide, but I also had it that way in windows (as well as playing WoT in window'ed mode coz ez change to firefox for a few seconds while I'm loading into the game kek)
Will try fullscreen tho, and have fun tweaking stuff I guess~
so I didn't really do that much, don't even bothered looking into the vcrun2015 thingy too much as it's not avaiable on PlayOnLinux. Pretty sure development is halted for that as well.
