Hey guys!
I made this topic so you could drop your favourite artist/band here. Write some word about band/artist, why you love them, and what is the reason you still with them. You can write about for example how you got to know them, any experience or life events connected to them. I start with mine.
My favourite band is:
Carbon Based Lifeforms
They are a swedish ambient music duo, formed at 1996. In that sense, they are a fairly old band. I found some discs in 2003 at Finland, as I have sorted an old acquaintance's of mine's belongings. I knew she always liked ambient music, but I was never really into that kind of genre. As I have finished with my sorting work, I was there, without anything to do, for an additional 6 days, which 4 them I had to spent alone. Having nothing better do, I decided to listen some of the music discs I have found. At that time, only two albums were out: The Path, and Hydroponic Garden. Those two albums completely took me in, and that was the time I realized that this is the music I really like. It's possible that because my life changed a lot at that year that I started liking different kind of music too, but that does not change the fact, that even after 14 years they still my favourite band. So far, they have 7 albums, and they making their new one, which will be released this year.
Their music is ambient/downtempo/chill out/psybient. I always found their music calming, and if you pay attention to it, you can hear all the intricate intruments which are hidden within. I also really like the feeling their music gives off. Their music is rather the "close to nature" or "mystic" feeling, rather than being psyhedelic (that is why at the beginning I was writing psybient).
Carbon Based Lifeforms is with me every day from that date. When I'm going to work, coming home, or just taking a walk, or doing housework, I listen at least a couple of track every day. Of course, alongside with other great artists like Solar Fields, Aes Dana, Asura, Stellardrone, Klaus Schulze, and I could go on. But CBL has a special place in my heart, as their music always managed to pull me through everything. If you interested, here are two tracks from them, or you can just google their albums:
