Simply put, I created a discord server for those who are interested. Even though we have chatwing and several other groups, I think discord is nice for those that use it often because it's fairly easy to set-up (and no random bugs like chatwing even though steam tries his hardest to fix them). Also I feel like it has a higher accessibility for new people, potential recruits, friends of the clan etc. compared to chatwing or (in a lesser way) teamspeak.
Just be aware that if we spread ourselves out over too many platforms, especially with regards to voice communication, it will lead to a fracturing of members, which can interfere with organizational stuff like events, SH, and all that crap. While I do understand that it might be more accessible to newer players / members, our main platform for voice should remain with TS, since we can keep some control over who has access to the group and who not, plus potential security issues. But as long as it does not drain the the player base from TS, I'm okay with it (for now).
As from my part, TS still the official communication platform of YATTA, chat and voice wise. TS if far more superior regarding technology, and it's not hard to set up too. Also, what Fail said. New members also should get used to TS, not discord. And TS actually has lots of work put into it, and that's our only communication platform which I constantly develop (because it actually has lots of option). Also, TS is really secure, especially nowadays.
I agree with all of this, I made the discord also as a backup for when ts is having issues, but it would be a shame to let all the work (and my ranks on teamspeak) die.
If we keep discord for chatting and ts for voice it should be okay imo, because chatwing is kinda dead-ish right now.
Well, those who on TS, we use TS for chat too. Also, I don't think that the guys who's using TS will going to go somewhere else, where they know nobody. The thing is, I'm not forcing this, or anything like that, but people actually come to teamspeak by themselves, because it's good for anything, and easy to set-up. The part where you need to get a pass and stuff, is just security. Sebetron only using the chat for example on TS, and it works. Of course, you can advertise it, but I don't people will just going to go there, especially if nobody's following. And no SH, CW, or any other kind of gaming will going to happen there, which also keeps people on TS. Also, TS is a stand-alone program, and much more resource friendly. For a potato computer, running a browser for the sake of a chat service is usually a minus, some clan members almost never on chatwing because of this for example on a PC.
