Hello guys!
Pretty early, but as this was in the air even at tankfest, when Haffi and me was nonchalantly talking about what should we do at 2018 in the restaurant, I decided to make a topic out of it.
By the way, apart from this, of course, any other suggestion is welcomed, this is basically a plan.
The basic outline is that YATTA members should meet in Hungary at summer, timed for the anime convention here. Hungary has pretty big anime conventions, and the summer one is the biggest, which usually happens in the middle of july around. In general, this meet would be about meeting up here, and have a weekend at the anime convention. The pros of meeting in Hungary:
- Cheaper than the western countries. Not just food and other stuff, but even lodging.
- Our country is safe (currently), and we have reliable transportation in this sense.
- People who couldn't really get out towards England can more easily come here.
- I can easily house two members in my own flat, free of charge.
The plan would be to stay in Tatabánya, which is the city I live in, and 65 km away from the capital. The reason for this is that the capital is way more expensive, and even considering the train ticket prices, it's way more cheaper (a two way ticket to the capital from here is 10 EURs). Although my city is not like a capital, it's calm, and we can have shittons of outing around the nearby forests, hills, and of course, we have some cafés and other restaurants around here. And for the conventions, in the capital, there are everything we need there.
As the prices for the hotel, they changing constantly, but 4 nights for a 3-space bedroom is around 200 EURs total on the more expensive side. My city only has a couple of lodgings here, so it's still a question of debate which place it will be, but we will try the big hotel 5 minutes from my house.
During the weekend, we would go up the capital at the morning, get back at the evening, with train. I will be your guide.
Everybody think about this. As I said, I can house 2 people easily, if it's a really must, even 3, if you promise to not break anything in my house. I think this much is enough for starters. You can ask questions regarding anything about the plans here, and you can even make a post if you simply interested.
