Like I wrote in the sheet, I don't know yet if I'll have things to do on 16th and/or 17th on college. I'm last year on the course and might need to "defend" final assignment on those days. With information I have now about it, it should be done during 1st week of exams which is week before this meet so I should be fine. Will know all the info about that before March. Coming to Budapest via bus or train, preferably train since I drove in it once, when I was 6. Also
I know that it's not 100%, that was just something I wanted to clarify, which, of course, up to change however we want and decide.
Also, if any of you want to stay even after the 17, 3 ppl can easily stay at my place. We can have outings, visit nice places around the country, have talks, etc. I know lots of programs, but I will going to write some together for those who plan to stay more.
I ask everyone to go through the table once again, that it's now the end of January. The table can be found in the previuoros posts. Refer to it, and make adjustments, as you see fit. Also, spread the table to others. The hotel reservations can be held pretty long, but you guys can finalize your dates, and start booking your airplane tickets. The standard date is 12-17, but it's possible to stay longer if anybody wishes, I'm free through the next week too after the convention weekend. Some info: - Would be nice if you guys, or the majority can arrive at the 12th. If you guys arrive around the same time of the day, I can pick up everyone together. I cannot say anything about if I will have car or not, so prepare for public transport. I try to pick up everyone though. We might as well wait for everyone in the airport if some people arrive sooner. - Preferably don't arrive evening, and do not arrive at any cost during the night (after 10pm), because chances the trains will not run, and you cannot make it until morning.
If you bought the ticket then color your line the table, and write into the comments when you leave, when your arrive, etc., any important info regarding your flights. As I say again, my house can take 3 extra people comfortably. We will decide who will stay there when we know the final lineup, until then, let's leave this at at.
You have to arrive at Budapest Airport Terminal 2. Don't believe in scams if it says terminal 1, because that's a military airport. Within the EU, there is nothing to worry about taxation and customs, so if you want to buy stuff at the convention and bring it home, you don't need to do customs. The conventions' language regarding goods is english, the programs are promoted in hungarian which I can translate if we will be interested in, for example, the cosplay competition, as a group.
If talks can go through, then my café can be present there, and you can have free stuff from my establishment, but this is not 100%, as they currently not willing me to sell my stuff there.
Get your tickets until the end of Februay if you don't want it to be really expensive.
Plus info for those who still more than the 17th. On the extra days, we can do the following, everything free to decide: - more outings - visiting establishments like the zoo, aquarium, or the wildpark. These places can be reached with train. One program is good if we put a whole day on it. - visiting a good teahouse in the capital. I could show you guys a place where we can drink traditional green tea. - a long day in the resort garden, where we can have a bbq party, or anything else, really. My Mother volunteered to make us food if we decide to spend some time there.
Be mindful that there is a chance that lengthening the hotel stay will not be possible further the 17, thus you have to stay in my house after 17. Of course, these things can be controlled in advance if we pour some energy into it. Let's have a talk about this at the end of february, when things start to get clean.
Any anything else you have in your head, and you share it with us.
I will going to make a bigger post later, but first, here is a link about the trip I'm planning to take with you. Because now at least 3 other ppl stay longer, that means we can easily have a longer, more fulfilling outing. The following link is hungarian only unfortunately, but you can look at the map, and use google translate to get around. This whole trip is ~67 km, and around 25 km, it goes through my city, so I though doing this 25 km trip around. If you liked this, I still have lots of other places to go. This route goes through the Vértes Hills. We have to climb, and descend a lot, and the whole route is covered with forests, and high-level meadows. We can go up to these meadows, have a nice look from high up, and take breaks there.
I ask everybody who plans to come to finalize their trip until the end of march. This means, preferably buy your airplane ticket (or train ticket, if you coming with that), but at least colorize your line in the table, and fill out the comment section accordingly if you 100% sure that you come (like Rag done it, for example). Those who not stay at my place have to decide this, because at the end of march, I want to shrink down the hotel reservations to exact number. The ones who staying at my place now looks like Dream, Filip, and Fip. If somebody do decided to come after this date, then he need to reserve his place in the hotel, which can be challenging, if it's full.
Hello guys. Whoever haven't finalized their trips, please do it now. As I see, everybody done that, but except Arb and Loxias. At the end of March, I finalize hotel rooms, so whoever said they come 100% will have hotel space. More details after march ended. Only now, keep this in mind about finalizing.
As promised, I finalized the hotel reservation. It looks the following now:
- Altogether 4 people will stay in hotel (Rag, Cryo, Haffi, Cube). For you guys, there is a single room, and a triple room. The reason there are no double rooms is in the name itself: they are not twin rooms. Like this, everybody can has their own bed really comfortably, and as far as I know, Cube, and Haffi also okay being alone in a room. There are some points you have to be aware of:
- You guys arriving and leaving at different times. Because of this, the cheapest method was to book the abovementioned rooms from 12-20. Like this, the full price is 314.680 HUF+city tax, which is around ~1000 EURs. At 12th, you guys have to occupy the single, and triple room too, so during check-in, one of you need to check in to the single room too. After that, how you guys decide to stay, is up to you. Cube arrives at 13, everybody else at 12. Cryo and Rag leaves at 19th, others at 20th.
In the end, I decided to keep your booking on my credit card, I don't think anything bad will happen regarding any of you. So, in regards of payment, I would ask you to make it simple for me if it's possible, and pay me your part in HUF in cash when you arrive. This means 83.000 HUF/person, which is around 265 EURs. This is for the whole stay, and breakfast is included (i will double-check this with an inquirty).
Other costs you have to prepare is transportation, the ticket for the convention, food, and stuff like this. You can find these infos in previorous posts.
Apart from the anime convention, we will have big outings, I know nice places in the country where we can travel too, and of course, we can go to my garden resort for BBQ, drinking, etc.
Also, Dream, Filip, and Fip staying at my place as far as I know. I got confirmation from Dream and Filip, but I ask Fip to confirms if he's coming or not. Thx!
Well, in the end, decided to put the newest post here in the end. This post will be about finalized informations, mostly prices. Basically, I try to make a guide as what to bring, what to count for. Every price will be in HUF.
Costs: - Hotel fee. This one divided between the 4 people staying in the hotel equally. There is a room for 3 people, and one single room. You guys can decide who wants to stay in which one. The total price with city tax is 336.354 for the whole stay. This means 84.000 HUF rounded down per person. I will ask you to give me the money in cash upon arrival, in HUF. - Tickets for the convention costs 4000 HUF/person. I will also ask this in cash upon arrival, in HUF. I get the tickets in advance. - Local transport ticket or pass for the capital. This one is a tough one, as I don't know how much we going to hang around in the capital. Given that the convention itself taking up two full days, and we not really going to travel anywhere else on those days, we don't need to count those in. But as the remaining of the time, it's a question how much we going to go around the capital. Thing is, if we want to go around cafés, places, etc., then you will all need some kind ticket for local transportation. There are two possibilities: - One is to buy a weekly ticket, which is 5000 HUF. The problem with this that it's only valid for 7 days, while you guys staying longer, and you have to pay that full 5000 HUF price for it whether you use it or not. - The second, and I personally think more viable option is to buy 10-ticket bulk books. These books has 10 ticket, and and book costs 3000 HUF. If the 6 of you buy 3 of these, which is 30 tickets, then each of you pays 1500 HUF for it, and I think this will be enough, and cheaper. If it's not enough, you can always buy more books. Buying single tickets is not recommended, as they cost 20% more per ticket, thus I recommended buying the books. - Tickets for the train between the capital and my city. A round trip is 3000 HUF per person. You have to calculate one trip to my city, two round trips for the convention, and one back to the capital when you fly home at least. This is 9000 HUF minimum per person. But given that we go to the capital apart from these dates, you kinda need to count in more for this, around 15000 HUF per person. Also, keep in mind, if we would use intercity, it's an additional 1000 HUF for a round trip apart from the normal 3000 HUF price. To avoid problems with seat reservation, like we don't sit next to each other, we will use normal trains so we could sit anywhere. - Transport fees to the BBQ party place. This is around 800 HUF for a round trip with bus. We can also go here more, as I have nice outing places in this city, cheaper to get there, and we can easily walk around all day. There are also some restaurants, cafés, etc. I would be happy to show you around in the city where I spent my childhood. It's also really cheap, effortless, and only 15 km away from the city where I live. Also, the long trip I'm planning is around a 10 minutes trip with train, effortless the same way, and a round trip costs around the same. Only that it's in a different direction, and completely away from any settlements, as the route goes through the hills and forests. - Food money. This is pretty random. Don't know much I cook, and how much we eat outside, we will also have barbecue, etc. If we think about the safe way, then count 3000 HUF per day for food. For the 9 days you guys staying, calculate with 27000 HUF/person for food. I will try to ease your burdens with food by cooking, and if possible, using my catering card. - Spending money. I cannot really tell you how much to bring, but I guess you know that for a 9 days trip you need some spending money. Of course, everybody brings as much as he can, but I guess a minimum of 30000 - 45000 HUF can keep you in the safe, as from that, you can buy stuff, get in cafés really easily, etc.
Altogether, I recommend everyone to bring around 180.000 HUF (spending money counted), which translates to around 580 EUR. Of course, if you can bring more, bring it, just to be on the safe side.
As of the programs: - Everybody arrives at july 11, except Cube, who arrives at 12. The convention is at 14-15, which is our fixed weekend program. To avoid the overpriced food stands, I recommend that we bring sandwitches, etc. with us. I try to lobby it out so we could bring them in into the convention. - At the thursday before the convention, Cube arrives, so we can go up to the capital, hang around, get Cube, then get back to my city around late afternoon. Still before the convention we have a friday, we can use this day to look around in my city. There is a nice café, some places to see, and just generally walk around. Nothing else in my city, really, it's a calm city. But I think it would be actually nice to talk in lengts, and I could show you my house, where I can cook for you guys, and we can drink too together. After the convention, at monday, let's take it easy, and I recommend to go and have the BBQ. We can eat, kick back. At tuesday, we can do the big outing I was planning, which will take up the whole full day. Wednesday we can either go to my city, or if you guys really tired after the long outing, which is a big possibility, we hang around in my house, and I let you guys recuperate with some nice homemade food and with my own homemade vodka and wine. Given that at wednesday we stay in my city, we still have a thursday, where we can go to the capital, or go to the city I grew up at. I recommend the latest one.
Of couse, everything is open to debate. If you have any question, post here, or get in touch with me in any way.
Mismatched date, and didn't know about it up until now. So whatever was planned there is blasted and needs re-planning.

Because of an accidental date mismatch, had to rework the general plans a little:
As of the programs: - Everybody arrives at july 12, except Cube, who arrives at 13, and Filip, who arrives alone at the 11. The convention is at 14-15, which is our fixed weekend program. To avoid the overpriced food stands, I recommend that we bring sandwitches, etc. with us. I try to lobby it out so we could bring them in into the convention. UPDATE: I managed to make so water can be definitely brought in because of the summer, if it's in a plastic bottle. Food is so-so, but I will manage to work that out too. - At wednesday, Filip arrives, who I will take at the local bus station, which is really close to my workplace. Everybody else arrives at thursday, and Cube arrives at friday. With Filip, who arrives around 1500-1600, we will most likely go back to my city, and just chat, drink, and eat. I can show you around if you want, and it's not painfully hot. Next day, at thursday, the others arrive. We will most likely go and hang around at the airport until we get all of them (this info especially for Filip), and I reckon the others will be quite tired after the travel, and the hotel rooms has to be taken, so we travel back to the city when Haffi arrives (he is the last, at 1620), and you guys take you hotel rooms. The night after this is free, you can come to my place and we can have a toast, or whatever that we together, jerk off each other, etc. Friday only Cube arrives, so we can go up to the capital, hang around, get Cube, then get back to my city around late afternoon. I will try to talk out so we doesn't have to go to the airport with Cube, so we would meet up somewhere in the city. After that, I know lots of teahouses, etc. After the convention, at monday, let's take it easy, and I recommend to go and have the BBQ. We can eat, kick back. At tuesday, we can do the big outing I was planning, which will take up the whole full day. Wednesday people will be really tired after the long outing, so we can hang around in my house, and I let you guys recuperate with some nice homemade food and with my own homemade vodka and wine. Non-alcohol lovers can drink my homemade lemonade with allspice and clove. At thursday, which is your last day, we can either look around in my city, (There is a nice café, some places to see, and just generally walk around. Nothing else in my city, really, it's a calm city. But I think it would be actually nice to talk in lengts) or go to the city I grew up at. The city called Oroszlány, and it's also a calm, and beautiful place. It also has some places where we can sit in, although I don't really know a place which can easily take 7 people, so it will more like be walking, buying drinks and food at kiosks. I can show you where I spent a big part of my childhood.
Also, those who stay at my place, you don't need to bring a towel, or shower gel, anything like that. Only toothbrush.
Of couse, everything is open to debate. If you have any question, post here, or get in touch with me in any way.
Do regular places accept € or HUF is what we need?
The way my bank works makes it easy for me, at least after I get my hands on ATMs in Hungary. Until then, I'll have to convert an initial sum myself here in Croatia.
Here, it's mostly up to the seller if he's wants to (almost always spoken agreement over how much 1€ is HRK, usually x7,5) and supermarkets and such "official" stores don't accept €. Same goes for all other currencies.
Most shops accept HUF, some of then accept EUR, but HUF is generally a better idea. We have multiple ATMs here, you can withdraw HUF, but can use your card to pay at shops easily if your card is an international type.

So, couldn't manage to cancel the extra space, so you guys have to put up by paying more (those who stay in the hotel). This makes the original hotel price of 84.000 HUF/person to 112.000 HUF/person. If somebody is not okay with it, then drop here a message. Basically, we will have a triple room, and a single room. You guys can take this 2 rooms however you want, but you do need to check in for all two of the rooms at the first day.
Might as well post since i finally have some free time due to a rainy day...
Fishy transports inc. presents - goods from Finland to the meetup
If there is something ya would like to get from Finland, whether it's small weeb stuff or some Finnish candy/goods, now is the time to mention about it. There are some limits to it (no liquids/alcohol for starters, 8Kg total weight limit) as i'll be travelling with just a carry-in backpack and some of the available space is allready booked for Steam...but i'll be listening if ya have requests for something doable.
Random tidbits for Steam:
-Ya mentioned that ya can bring in water bottles in to the convention, i take it that it's allright as long as it's plastic? Ya most likely remember my Norway setup that i have a source kangaroo in the backpack for that, it's all plastic but not in a conventional shape of a bottle =D
-What's the current exchange rate from EUR to HUF over there? Just curious about it if ya know, i am aware that it changes every now and then though. I'd just curiously want to compare it to what i get over here before i plan it all up. Might do a 50/50, who knows.
Might have had something else in mind too, but i'll ask about those later if i remember them again
"Sometimes, you need to jump into the battlefield even if it seems like you'll surely die" - Pico / RF4

Should be same everyhere, at current time, 1€ = 322,56 HUF.
IMO, will only bring enough HUF for a day one, maybe 2 since I can get HUF from ATMs without fee.
I'm bringing some alcohol sets for Steam and Raggouk and as it is now, I doubt I have enough money to get much more for others. Should have enough transport volume with a rucksack and relatively small transport bag.
